Treatment Modalities
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
One of the primary treatment approaches I use in my practice. This process assists people in becoming aware of the thoughts that influence their emotions, which then drive their behaviors.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
I encourages people to focus on the symptoms they are experiencing in a moment of distress (how does your body feel, what thoughts are going through your head, what emotions are coming up) and employing Mindfulness-based techniques to work through the distress.
Because I treat individuals who have experienced traumatic events in their lives, I also use techniques that assist people in resolving the trauma in a way that does not require them to recall the shock repeatedly (as in Prolonged Exposure Therapy). I prefer to use treatment approaches like
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing , Emotional Freedom Techniques, and other
dynamic treatments that allow you to
resolve the disturbing memories.
